* Medicine for the Spirit *

Joan Borysenko Ph.D.

Dr. Joan Borysenko is most well-known for her work in illuminating the mind-body connection. She is an author, speaker, and distinguished medical scientist and psychologist in the advancement of integrative medicine. Joan’s work has greatly help advance the spiritual connections in the realm of healing and health. She is a Harvard Medical School graduate with three post-doctoral fellowships.

Founder of a Mind Body clinic with Herbert Benson (the doctor who first identified the relaxation response), Joan also founded The Claritas Institute for Interspiritual Inquiry with Gordon Dveirin, her husband, and Mind/Body Health Sciences, LLC in Boulder, Colorado.

Joan’s life path came out of a desperate early childhood battle with the spiritual realm. Her fervent prayers for guidance lead to a profound awakening and miraculous recovery. Because of her unique combination as a licensed psychologist, doctor, and writer and her willingness to blend her spirituality into all she teaches, Joan can reach people on a spiritual level throughout the world and through her television appearances and radio shows.

Joan Borysenko Quotes

The question is not whether we will die, but how we will live.."

"...discernment may be the key spiritual practice."

" Forgiveness is not the misguided act of condoning irresponsible, hurtful behavior. Nor is it a superficial turning of the other cheek that leaves us feeling victimized and martyred. Rather it is the finishing of old business that allows us to experience the present, free of contamination from the past.”

"Some tension is necessary for the soul to grow, and we can put that tension to good use. We can look for every opportunity to give and receive love, to appreciate nature, to heal our wounds and the wounds of others, to forgive, and to serve."
